Since when did pride become my best friend?
Trying to appear like we have it all together,
we buy fancy cars to mask that we are broken within

And we hurt the ones we love
We snap at strangers sitting next to us on the bus
People destroy others just to build up their own pride
Putting others down to feel better inside

I see fathers crying
I see cheated on spouses scorned and spying
I see chronic pain
I see chronic shame

Now there’s chronic disdain

It’s not about what they can do

We just needs to give more grace
Every single one of us is in this human race

And treat others well in what we do and say
